NEED NOT BE PRESENT TO WIN

Quilt constructed by Bobbi Finley, who realized a love for Civil War-era quilts after finding a reproduction online.

She drafted the patterns, selected the fabrics and constructed the quilt top with machine piecing and hand appliqué. The quilting was done with a longarm machine by Becky Martinell. The quilt is 100% cotton, including the batting, and was made 2004-2006. Measurement is 94.5" x 94.5".

The quilt won Second Prize in the category "Mixed Techniques" at the State Fair of VA Quilt Show in 2006.

Bobbi Finley is an award-winning quilter and has quilts in the collection of the American Museum of Folk Art in New York City and the Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin. She is the co-author of a book, Tile Quilt Revival: Reinventing a Forgotten Form, to be published in early 2010.

Estimated Value: $2,000.00
